Describing a Setting

This term I have been learning to describe a setting:
Success Criteria:
  • use describing words
  • use language features e.g. similes and alliteration,
  • use my senses (see, hear, feel,)
  • hook the reader into feeling what it was like

The sun rises up making the clouds a pinky, orange
colour.  The water splashes down like a waterfall.  The
grass is light green and the mountain is as tall as the
Sky Tower.  It pulls me in like I was there.

Reflection: It was hard to think of words to describe the picture. It was easy to do think of some words. I could use a simile about the mountain.  I used some describing words to describe the colour of the clouds.

Well done Ali. Writing is something you find tricky but you had some good ideas about what you could see.
I like the way you thought of the scene drawing you into it, a great hook. I felt like that too. You have used some describing words too. Keep trying to add details and add your thoughts through your senses.
