Writing

I am learning to write tidy letters so that I can read my stories. Look at my letters, I am learning how to form them correctly.

Reading

I am learning to recognise compound words. They are two words put together to make a new word. Here I am playing my match up game!

"Pop and corn make popcorn! Compound words are two words put together to make another new word" said Ali.

Ladybird Art

We learnt how to make a collage. We layered pieces of paper onto each other to create our ladybirds on leaves. I wrote a story to go along with it all about my ladybird!

"My ladybird is beautiful, she creeps under leaves" said Ali.

Maths

I am learning to add on from 5. Here I am playing my maths game activity Mr Potato Head. I roll the dice and add that number on from 5.

"5 + 3 = 8 because I add on 3 from 5 to make 8" said Ali.

Writing

I can publish my story writing and illustrate my work. In our big book we learnt about the life cycle of a chicken. Here is my chicken.

"Chickens hatch from eggs and then grow into big chickens and have their own eggs they look after until they hatch" said Ali.

Reading

I am learning to match rhyming words together. Here I am playing my activity with my group. I know that star and jar rhyme.

"Jar and star rhyme and log and fog too" said Ali.

Showcase

We are learning to grow our own plants. We know it needs sun and water to grow. Take a look at what 4 weeks of growing looks like!

"We need water and sun to make sure our plants grow. I think mine will grow the tallest first" said Ali.
